Lichen is a verb

When I observe nature, I am not looking at a static view, but at the event unfolding at that moment. Like a landscape, lichen is also an event, but a slow one in our eyes.

We ourselves are cells organised into human beings, gathered at a certain time and place. Perhaps the atoms within us once may have been settled into rock crevices on the other side of the world. Today, those same molecules are the very being happening right here within us. Just as all events in nature, lichen is also a current happening: a verb.
