Sperm whales are masters of long dives. Their breathing technique and ability to descend to hundreds of meters still amaze marine biologists.

For a long time, such a private matter as the breathing of this enormous animal was the only sign that revealed its presence to us when it surfaced. The water spray after breathing still reflects for a moment the glimmer of the huge creature's back after it has disappeared, like a secret promise of a mystery emerging from the sea.
