Coprinus comatus

I became interested in the Coprinus comatus mushroom, which causes destruction in cities, capable of pushing through asphalt and dislodging heavy paving stones. Despite their destructive power, Coprinus comatus are not particularly sturdy. In fact, they are so weak that within a few days, the mushroom completely disintegrates from its solid form into pitch-black ink.

The destruction caused by the mushroom in the city is not due to the strength of an individual mushroom, but to the power of its vast mycelial network.

The artwork measures 100 cm x 120 cm. It is created using mixed media on stretched canvas.
