Lichen of ice

As I was preparing to create the artworks for my solo exhibition "City Lichens," I wanted to tour the city and find the most succulent lichens and brightest colors as my inspiration. However, it was freezing, there was snow everywhere, and the few lichens I did find peeked out faintly from under a layer of ice.

Nevertheless, my exhibition was approaching, and the artworks had to be started. I decided to create the painting of lichens exactly as I saw them in the city then: peeking out here and there from amidst the snow and ice.

The artwork measures 100 cm x 150 cm. It is made using mixed media on stretched canvas.
