Architect's lichen

An architect friend of mine was visiting my studio, and I told her I was working on a series of paintings of lichens. Enthusiastic about the subject, my friend began to tell me about a lichen attached to a brick wall that she had encountered on a work trip.

She had thought that the brick facade had been defaced with yellow spray paint, but upon closer inspection, the paint splatters turned out to be a neon yellow and green lichen filament. I asked my friend to send me pictures, and inspired by the photos, I created this painting.

The artwork is painted with mixed media on stretched canvas. The artwork has an exhibition frame, which is included in the price.

The signature is on the front of the artwork.
